Dear PDA Members, Friends and Allies in Florida,

Thanks to your efforts Florida is on its way to having paper ballots, will you help us make history again?

The U.S. House Administration Committee is getting ready to dismiss Clint Curtis's Congressional Challenge for the last election results in FL Congressional District 24!

Please email or call the committee members and ask them to investigate the facts and not to summarily dismiss the case tell them to fund an independent investigation into the Congressional election results in FL CD24. (Read the letter below for backgound.)...

Kucinich announces impeachment charges against Vice President Cheney

After a series of delays, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), a candidate for president in 2008, announced a series of charges against Vice President Dick Cheney in Washington, DC, late in the day. Kucinich alleged that the Vice President had committed a series of impeachable offenses, and he was therefore introducing Articles of Impeachment against Cheney in the Congress today. Kucinich started off by reading the opening words of the Declaration of Independence, arguing they were "instructive at this moment."

"Whenever any government official becomes destructive of the founding purposes, that official must be held accountable," he said...

Among them will be mayors, including Rocky Anderson of Salt Lake City and John Shields of Nyack, NY; state legislators including Washington State Senator Eric Oemig; city council members, including Dave Meserve of Arcata, CA; and former government officials, including Daniel Ellsberg who released the Pentagon Papers; David MacMichael, a former analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency and a member of the steering committee of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity; and retired Army Colonel Ann Wright, a career diplomat who quit in protest the day the war began....

Earlier this morning week, Bush's appointees to the Supreme Court did exactly what he selected them to do.

By upholding the Federal Abortion Ban in its entirety, the Supreme Court has not only supported an abortion ban with no exception for a woman's health, it has given the green light to the anti-choice movement's plan to outlaw abortion entirely.

In her dissenting opinion, pro-choice Justice Ginsberg, who called the majority opinion "alarming", writes "...[T]he Act and the Court's defense of it cannot be understood as anything other than an effort to chip away at a right declared again and again by this Court."...
